TENNIS.
MATCH AGAINST WAIHI.
WIN FOR LOCAL TEAM.
An inter-club tennis match between the Paeroa and Waihi clubs was held on the local courts on Saturday, and resulted in a win for the Paftroa team. The matches were played in brilliant sunshine, and some splejndid contests were witnessed, making the day a most enjoyable one.
At the conclusion of the day’s play the president, Mr S. J. Hedge, voiced the pleasure of the local club in entertaining the visitors, and expressed the ht.pe that this would be only one of several inter-club matches. Mr G. A. Chappell, in replying, stAted that the Waihi club was throwing in. their lot with the Thames Valley Association, and he hoped the two clubs would meet, frequently under the association’s auspicep.
