KARAMU POISONING CASE
NO NEW DEVELOPMENTS.
MR. CHEYNE OUT OF DANGER
HAMILTON, November 8.
No further developments have occurred in connection with the Karamu tragedy. An inquest was opened last evening in connection with the death of Mr Allan Cornall, one of the; victims, and after evidence of identification was taken was adjourned sine die. A post-mortem examination was conducted, and the funeral took place to-day. The remainder of the; liquor found in the bottle from which the fatal drink was taken by Mr Cornall has been sent to Auckland for analysis.
The condition of Mr James Cheyne, who is still in the Waikato Hospital suffering from the effects of the poison, has shown a marked improvement. He is now pronounced out of danger, and his discharge from hospital in a few days is expected.
