QUARTER ENDED SEPTEMBER 30.
RECORDS OF PAEROA BUSINESS. Tne following recordsi of business at the Paeroa Courthouse for (he Quarter ended September 30 have been supplied by the local Clerfc of the Court, with figures for the quarter ended June 30, 1927, givep in parenthesis. In many instances a decrease will be noticed :—
Th© total number of sittings presided over by a magistrate was 3 (3), and the number of sittings by Justices] of the Peace 17 (9). The total amount sued for during the quarter was £679 4s Id (£1685 9s 7d), of which sum £428 10s 2d was recovered (£1483 16s 7d). There were 5 (10) applications heard in Court of Chambers. The number of plaints entered was 44 (65)> distress warrants] issued 1 (5), judgment summonses issued 22 (20), and warrants of committal 1 (3) ; summonses and other processes served by bailiff numbreed 84 (89), and distress warrants executed by the bailiff 1 (3). The amount of Court fees paid in stamps totalled £4B 3s (£77 14s 6d), and in criminal fees £lO 7s (£4 19s). Fines paid totalled £39 15s (£11).
During the quarter 34 (20) arrests wejre made.
