No fatal, accident to any train passenger in New Zealand occurred i ll the- twelve months for which, the report has just been issued. The Minister (Hon. 'J. G. Coates) remarks: “With over 26,000,000 passengers carried, this is a result of which the public and the, staff may feef proud. The number of accidents to trains involving passengers and employees was; six, as compared with 1 41 in the previous ye.ar. Personal accidents on the line (other than train; accidents) totalled 20 k>ss than for the year 1925-26. Shunting accidents likewise show a satisfactory decrease.”
