MATCH- AGAINST HAMILTON TEAM

WIN FOR LOCAL CLUB.

The match between the men members of the Paeroa Golf Club and the staff of the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy Company, Hamilton, resulted in a win for the local club. The following are: the results Rees beat Hollis, Hemus beat Miller, Kirkman beat Hubbard, Westwat&r lost to Moresby, Gronwall lost to Steedman,. Money lost to Hunter; Blakeway and Wilkinson ended all square, ,Leitch lost to Hedge, and McKinley lost to H. Thorp.

At the, conclusion of play Mr A. Steedman voiced the- Paeroa Club’s pleasure at playing this match. Although Paeroa had won, the games had been keenly contested, a.nd it was hoped that a return match would be playqd on some future date. Mr Kirkman expressed, on behalf of the visiting players, their appreciation of the excellent manner in which they had been entertained. The game too had been most enjoyable. He could not let th© opportunity pass, however, without specially mentioning the afternoon tea which had- been provided and so daintily set out by the members of the Ladies’ Club. He issued an invitation to the, Paeroa Club to visit Hamilton on Labour Day.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR SATURDAY

Members of the Paeroa Ladi'es’ Golf club are- advised that, the fixture for Saturday next is the third round of the eclectic match for which 1 players are requested, to arrange their own partners

The winner of the medal round on Saturday last was Miss M. Thorp, with a net score of 79. In the final for the club championship Mrs Miller defeated Mrs Lawrence, 6 and 5, and in the final of the club handicap Mrs F. C. Hubbard won from Miss Tierney, 6 up.
