ODDFELLOWS LODGE MATCH.
CAMBRIDGE DEFEATS PAEROA.
On Saturday last then Loyal Jubilee Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., Rugby team journeyed to Cambridge, where it played a match against, the Loyal. Duke of Cambridge Lodge. After a dose and exciting struggle the- home team won by the narrow margin of one point, the scores being Cambridge 6, Paeroa 5.
In the closing stages of the first quarter, from a line-out Morse (Cambridge) gained possession and sent out to Shaw, who made a good run and scored a, nice try for the home side. Cambridge 3, Paeroa 0. Following the kick-put Paeroa. advanced, and in the loose L. Williams snapped up the ball and made a brilliant run up tlie, field to score between the; posts. K. Dean converted. Paeroa 5, Cambridge 3.
Immediately play opened in the second quarter the home forwards instituted a rush, the ball going out inside Paej-oa’s twenty-five flag. From the throw-in C. Kelly secured and crossed the line. Bremner failed with the' kick. Cambridge- 6, Paeroa 5. The balance of the game was fast and opqn, and although the honours were generally with the visitors play ended without any further score being added. The referee; was Bro. W. Webber, P.G.
The visiting team returned to Paeroa on Sunday,. Leaving Cambridge at 2 p.m., they travelled via Arapuni, where the hydro-ejectricity works were inspected, and then on through Putaruru, Tirau, Te Aroha, arriving at Paeroa at 6 p.m.
