EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE.
THE GOLDFIELDS SUB-BRANCH. ANNUAL MEETING AT WAIHI. The annual meeting of the Goldfields sub-branch of the Educational Institute Was held in the Waihi Central School on Saturday last, Mr W. Morris, vice-president, presiding in the absence of Mr A. Burton, late of Te Aroha schoool. A fair number of teachers-, representative of Te Aroha, Pae-roa, and Waihi, attended.
The balance-sheet disclosed a very satisfactory credit balance, and it was decided to utilise this in arranging for lectures and addressees on educational topics' throughout the year. It was decided that the centre of the sub-branch for the forthcoming year should be located in Waihi
The following officers were duly elected : President, Mr W. Morris, Waihi District High School ; vicepresidents, Messrs. G. Sale (Karangaliake), J. T. Teesdale (Waihi South), and F. Bullen (Waihou) ; committee, Misses Rohan (Waihi), K. O’Grady (Paeroa), Billing (Waihi East), and Messrs T. Aickin (Elstow), J. Masefield (Waihi East), and Slaney (Waihi Central) ; secretary and treasurer, Mr H. Skiffington, Waihi District High School ; representative to Auckland branch, Mr Morris. After several new members were elected the meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the outgoing officers.
