SILVER PAPER.
SAVE WRAPPINGS FOR ORPHANS.
BUILDING a HOLIDAY FUND. v
What are you doing with your silver paper—are you collecting it ? There is no better means of disposing of .used toothpaste tubes, silver paper fronf chocolates and cigarette packets, etc. King’s Hospital, London-, has now a big box outside the building into which passers-by are invited to. put their collections. It is hoped by this means to raise £5OOO a year. There are three kinds of metal foil —tin foil lead foil, and aluminium foil, of which only the first has a substantial value. It is not always easy to distinguish between the; different qualities, and for that reason it is undesirable that collectors should roll the metal indiscriminately into balls. The different metals must ultimately be treated separately in smelting, and the cost of unpicking and sorting is heavy. It is bettor to fold each sheet S The Auckland Commercial Travellers, in conjunction with other centi esi in New Zealand, have devised a. system whereby you can assist the orphans by saving all silver paper (says the Te Aroha News). By the sale or this silver paper it is anticipated that the funds received will enable the four chief centres in New Zealand to provide a fortnight’s holiday at the seaside for at least six orphans from each centre each year. With your help this number could be very easily increased.
