POPULAR ON THE CONTINENT. SYDNEY FOLLOWING THE SYSTEM. “Vienna is the most cultured city in the world and it is also the most beautiful‘from the architectural point of view,” said Mr P. E. Wright, an Englishman who has travelled extensively on the Continent, to a reporter. “In Paris there are very beautiful buildings, but there is an air of ‘sameness/ about some of the streets, and the buildings look barrack-like. In Vienna the buildings conform to a distinct style, but they are varfed in 1 a refreshing and interesting planner.” The Continental plan was to build huge blocks of flats, and Sydney was following this system.
