PAEROA RUGBY UNION.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE.
The weekly meeting of the Paeroa Rugby Union Committee was field in Mr Bain’s Rooms on Monday evening, the following being present: Messrs C. T. Mettam (chairman), H. M. Shand, J. M. Crosby, J. Pinder, E. P. Fathers, and R. Hodson (secretary). CLEARANCE. An application for a clearance was received from B. E. King (East Club), he having left the district. —Granted. ■THAMES MATCH. On Mr Shand’s motion, seconded by Mr Crosby, it was decided that the Paeroa team to play Thames at Thames op Saturday would depart from the post office at 1.15 p.m., the final arrangements being left in the hands of Mr Pinder, who was appointed manager of the team. The names of six referees- were submitted by the Thames Union to select from, and after discussion Mr H. Brownlee was selected to control the game. SUBURBS CLUB. The Suburbs Club wrote asking permission to play a. match with Coromandel on the 17th ins.t. It was decided that owing to the likelihood of the Thames Valley Union having a match on that date permission could not be granted. The secretary was instructed to explain the position to the Suburbs Club. TRANSPORT OF PLAYERS. The action of the chairman in making arrangements for the transport of the third-grade team to Waihi on Saturday last was endorsed.
