COMPLETION OF COMPETITION.
WAITAKARURU WINS SHIELD,
The Hauraki Plains Hockey Association’s inter-club competition was concluded on Saturday last, when, as a result of a play-off with the Kopuarahi A team, Waitakaruru became the first holders of the trophy presented by Mr J. H. Nicholson, of Kerepeehi, for annual competition. Both the Waitakaruru and Kopuarahi A teams: had won five of the six matches in the round and had one draw, and in the play-off on Saturday last the scores wene five to nil in favour of Waitakaruru.
Ngatea High School cam© next, with three wins and a draw, making seven points,''and then followed Kerepeehi, five points ; Ngatea and Kopuarahi B, four points each ; and Turua, no points scored.
The association will probably meet within the next few days to discuss whether further games will be played this season.
