ROUTINE BUSINESS.

The monthly meeting of, the Paeroa Domain Board was held on Thursday night last the chairman (Mr W. Marshall) presiding over Messrs P- E. Brenan, E. Edwqrds, J. W. Silcoek, F, E. Flatt, H, J. Hare, E. A. Porritt, J. Pinder, W. Turner and W. C. Alexander (secretary). " USE (OF DOMAIN. A letter was received from the Thames Valley Rugby Union asking foidkermission to use the domain for the’purpose of playing the King Country v. Thames Valley match on the 13th inst. It w.a& the intention of the union to charge for admission gentlemen 2s, ladies .Is, schoolchildren 6d, and motor-cars 2s 6d. The application was granted, with the exception of allowing cars to be driven into the domain, as it. wasi considered that the ground would be too soft on account of the wet weather. It was contended by Mr Flatt that charges for admission were “a bit, too stiff.” He realised that the board had no control over the union’s affairs, and so long a& -the application was .approved he had nothing further to add. It was pointed out by Mr Brenan it. would not be wise for the board to refuse the- application, but ■h© thought the union would have been well advised to have charged less for admission, It was. admitted that the expenses of holding a representative match were heavy, but the union was dependent upon the support of the public. - The question of moving the football ground on to the higher portion allotted to the Ladies’ Hockey Chib was mentioned by Mr Edwards. As chairman of the domain committee Mr Brenan stated that the union had made no formal .application for the changing of the playing area. In any case, he was opposed to the removal of any playing area frPni that allotted unless sufficient reasons could be shown that it was in the best interests of any particular game to do so. RENT OF BOWLING GREEN. ' The Paeroa Bowling Club wrote asking that it be supplied with a stateits liabilities for the ■ coming season for the bowling green ; and night play. The secretary was instructed to supply the information.
