OHINEMURI LIBRARY.
ILIST OF BEPAW RECOMMENDED. REST ROOM SUGGESTED. The following report was submitted by the library committee to the Paeroa Borough Council meeting last night:— “The committee reports having made an inspection of the library and that same is in heed of certain renovations. We recommend : That the old gas brackets and wash basin be removed and the site cleaned up; that the floor under the lending library room be jacked up and reblocked ; that additional shelving be provided in this room by continuing same to cover all walls, and the old worm-eaten bookcase discarded; that a sash be placed high up between the
reading-room and lending room, to give more light in the latter room ; that the ceiling of this room and walls to top of shelf be painted white, as the room is very dark. The total cost of this work is estimated at £l5. “We also suggest that an estimate should be prepared of the cost of adding a ladies,’ rest-room to the building, access to same to be secured independent of the library. And that the ■Ohinemuri County Council be asked what amount it would be prepared to subscribe if this room were erected on this site.” The report was adopted.
