Accounts amounting to £12,129 4s lOd on the power fund and £1374 9s 2d on th© loan account were passed for payment fit. Tuesday’s meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board. A request from the Workers’ Educational Association for a donation towards its funds for pushing the work of the association ahead in the district was received at yesterday’s meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council. In moving that the request be declined, Cr. F. C. Hubbard said that he would rather favour an .additional grant being made to the Ohinemuri Public Library, if there was any money to spare. In seconding Cr. W. F. Johnstone said no doubt the association was doing worthy work but the request would have to be deferred. The Plunket Society’s nurse used the new car recently purchased for her by the four Hauraki Plains subbranches of the Thames branch of the society to visit tlje Plains on Wednesday last. The car is a two-seater of a popular make of geared car. ’Twas on the thirteenth day of June, John Jorkins caught a cold ; His eye was dim, and very soon Poor John felt really -ill.
