MATCH AGAINST SURREY.
VISITORS MAKE GOOD STAND,
On Wednesday the New Zealand Cricketers commenced a three days’ match againsit Surrey at the Oval. The visitors batted first, and the innings resulted in a score of 313 runs being made. Surrey went in, and at the close of play had knocked up 42 runs without losing a wicket. Resuming the innings, yesterday, the Surrey eleven were dismissed for 377 runs.
In the second innings, by the latestadvice this morning, thes New Zealanders made a stand and have compiled 197 ’runs for one wicket. Commencing to-piorrow, the Dominion team plays a three days’ match against Somerset at Weston-Super-Mare.
