NEW MERCER SEAT.
ANNOUNCEMENT BY MR. SAMUEL. DEFINITE DECISION TO STAND. Mr A. M. Samuel, M.P. for Ohinemuri, has definitely announced his intention of standing in the Government interest for the new Mercer electorate at the next general election. In coming to this decision, Mr Samuel said that he was actuated by the fact that portions of his present electorate, Ohinemuri, would be included in the Thames and Waikato electorates upon the .abolition of Ohinemuri. As both Waikato and Thames were represented in Parliament by metabers of his own party, the only logical course open to him was to contest the new Mercer seat.
