LOAN APPLIED FOR.
RECONSTRUCTION OF STREETS. ACTION BY BOROUGH COUNCIL. A special meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council was held on Saturday night, His Worship the Mayor (Mr W. Marshall) presiding. The object of the meeting was to consider a notice of motion to apply to the Local Government Loans Board for its, sanction to the borrowing of the sum of £4500 for the purpose of reconstruction of the main streets, the scheme which, was explained to a meeting of ratepayers, on July 19 last, and which has already been fully published by this journal.
It was stated that two objections had been received, namely, from Messrs. Kennedy Bros, and G. and A. Buchanan.
It was r,esolved to forward the objections on to the Local Government Loans Board. After a brief discussion it was resolved to carry the motion, and that application be- made forthwith to the Local Government Loans Board for permission to raise the sum of £4500.
