AURORA THEATRE PICTURES. TO-NIGHT. ONE INCREASING PURPOSE. Drama, virile with life, strong in suspense and absorbingly interesting in its unfoldment, is the screen version of A. S. Hutchinson’s widely read and discussed novel, “One- Increasing Purpose,” which is to be presented this evening.
BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY’S EFFORT. GAIETY THEATRE. TO-MORROW. Of all the local institutions there is probably not one that contributes more to the general welfare of the borough than the Paeroa Beautifying Society. The various garden plots and trees', which are 1 much ,admired, not only by local residents’, but also by visitors, cannot be maintained in a flourishing order or new wor.k undertaken without money. As the society is dependent upon the good nature of the public for its existence, the officers of the society have no sinecure. An appeal is being launched to-mor-row night, when a gi'.and social and dance will be held at the Gaiety Theatre-. Billed as “The Social of the Year,” everything possible is being done to ensure the pleasure and comfort of patrons. Tn the hope of receiving liberal support the price of admission has been fixed at a modest sum, especially considering that everything is to be of the best. A golden opportunity is presented to the public to come forward and assist the small band of workers, who ar.e handicapped in their unselfish work of making Paeroa a brighter and prettier town in which to live-.
