LOYAL JUBILEE INSTALLATION.

INTERESTING PAEROA CEREMONY

On the wide seas of Friendl?’ Society there is no prouder sailer than the fine old ship Oddfellowship. The storms of 100 1 years -have swept over her, but still on an even keel the'old ship sails ever onward, inspired with confidence and hope.

Separated b?- many miles from the home of the Order, but closely linked; with bonds of sympathy, Loyal Jubilee Lodge, the Paeroa branch of the Manchester Unity Oddfellows, has completed another half-year of its work. Established in 1897, the Jubilee Lodge is a worth?’ member of the 5500 lodges of tho Order scattered over the world, and its members equal shareholders with the 1,500,000 members of the M.U. On Tuesday evening in the Centenary Hall the installation of officers for the ensuing six months took place. The ceremony, impressively carried through by L.M.P.G. Bro. W. Power, resulted in the following officers taking their positions of honour : I.P.N.G. Bro. K. L. Slyfield, N.G. Bro. D. C. Snow, V.G. Sister Ethel Freeman, E.S. Sister Hartley. The retiring N.G., Bro. K. L. Slyfield, expressed appreciation of the co-operation of members during his term of office and asked support for his successor. In special mention of the services of the Sisters of the lodge the retiring N.G. expressed pleastir <’]t the success of Sister Iris Taylor in the position of permanent secretary. and also of the help of Sister Freeman as E.S- and Sister Purdie as organist. Following lodge, a complimentary social was tendered to the band of helpers at the grand ball and to the friends of the lodge. With games and competitions the evening passed all too quickly for the happy- company. The sisters of the lodge, with whom the entire arrangements were entrusted, are to be congratulated not only on the dainty supper provided, but on the success of the evening socially
