HOCKEY.
LAST SATURDAY’S MATCH.
PAEROA BEATS NGATEA SCHOOL
Considerable interest was taken in the hockey match at the local domain on Saturday afternoon between the Paeroa ladies’ team and a team froifi the Ngatea District High School. The game was for the most part fast and open, and was more closely contested than the scores indicate. At half-time the local eleven had netted two goals, the scorers being Misses V. Shand and A. Morland. In the second half the local captain, Miss V. Shand, shot two more goals, and in the closing stages of the game Miss McKe-rchar sent in a stinging shot for the visitors. The game ended Paeroa 4, Ngatea School 1. The Rev. Weadon a.nd Mr L. Mahon were referees.
The following were the results of games played on the Plains on Saturday : Ngatea It, v. Turua 0 ; Waitakaruru 1, v. Kopuarahi A 1 ; Kerepeehi 4, v. Kopuarahi B 1.
