MATCH AGAINST DIRHAM. RESULT OF FIRST DAY’S PLAY. The New Zealand cricketers commenced their first day’s play on the two days’ match against Durham at Sunderland on Saturday morning. Advice received hy cable this -inorniiig states that in their first innings the New Zealanders made- 373 runs, and when stumps were drawn in the evening the home side had knocked up Hl runs for the cost of eight wickets. The match is being continued today.

Commencing on Wednesday, the visitors will play a two days’ match against the-Northumberland eleven at Newcastle-on-Tyne.
