THE CANADIAN PIONEER. “The Canadian Pioneer,” Thomas Meighan’s latest picture, to be screened to-night, is a story of the loneliness of the Canadia.n wheat fields, of helpless dependence on the vagaries of the weather, of the strength and optimism of those building a new empire, ami of tire overwhelming effect it lias on tihe sensibilities of an aristocratic English woman suddenly thrust into these open spaces. The high standard set up on Hie occasion of their previous visit will be fully maintained, and the new preg'amme should make a genm-ous evening’s amusement. Comedy will be the keynote, with “Scrateher” Ross in a screaming burlesque, “The Suicide Club” and “The Porter’s Dilemma.” while Charles Albert will be seen in an entirely different role. Elaine Maye and Mark Leslie have a new and original terpsichorean eecentri :it’, and Dorothy Ryder and Fred Webber have a decidedly novel singing,, dancing, and musical sketch.
