ENTERTAINMENTS,

GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES. TO-NIGHT. THE ACE OF CADS. A double-star programme is to be presented this evening, wihen “The Ace of Cads” and “The Lily” will be screened. “The Ace of Cads” tells of the love of a young officer, whose rival discredits him. and ho is dismissed from tlie army and loses his girl. Years of wandering mark him as philanderer. Then by chance ho meets the daughter of his rival and the girl. How he shows his love still flows for the girl, and how he was wronged, is a dramatic climax and excellent acting. THE LILY. One of the greatest outpourings of a woman’s passion ever seen op the screen marks the climax and dramatic highlight of “The Lily,” a strong, straight drama of men and women, love and life, selfishness pitted against self-denial. THURSDAY NIGHT. THE FILM OF LORD NELSON. This wonderful British film, recording the life of England’s great naval hero, which is being looked forward to by all patriotic New Zealanders, is to be screened to-morrow afternoon and evening. The quiet dignity, simple manner, and indomitable courage of the immortal hero are admirably portrayed. Impressive scenes at naval engagements of Trafalgar, st. Vincent, and the Nile fill the picture with action and colour. Love and romance are also kept in view through-: out. Tlie battle scenes are excellent, those of Trafalgar and St. Vincent being so realistic that it takes but little effort of the imagination to turn the pages of history for little more- than 100 years and imagine oneself a passive witness of the battles.
