FLIGHT TO INDIA.
I’l LOTS’ ADVENTURES.
NIGHT ON OVERTURNED ’PLANE
LONDON. May 23.
Sir Hugh Trenchard. Chief Air Marshal, has cabled congratulations to Lieutenants Carr and Gillman on their splendid flight. He regrets that they -were unable to reach their goal. Reports from Bagdad state that a naval patrol boat picked up the aviators, but did not salve the ’plane, which was badly damaged and floated upside down for some time. Lieutenants Carr and„Gillman spent the night on their overturned aeroplane, to which they swam after being thrown out into shark-infested seas. They were taken off at dawn by the lightliouse-keepcT.
