PAEROA REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION. PREPARING FOR THE SEASON. A meeting of those interested in the Paeroa Referees’ Asociation was held in Mr Bain’s Rooms on Friday last, Mr H. M. Shand presiding over a fair attendance. The following officers were elected : President, Mr P. E. Brenan f chairman. Mr H. M. Shand ; secretary, Mr R. B. Penlington, pro. tern.; delegate to Paeroa Rugby Union, Mr T. C. Arnold; delegate to Thames Valley Referees’ Association, Mr E. Smith and G. McMillan. It was decided that the executive consist of the whole association and a delegate from the Rugby Union. Messrs Shand, R. Hodson, and R. B. Penlington were appointed the seletcion committee, and Mr E. Smith examiner for new memlt was decided to ask the local Rugby Union to procure- through the Thames Valley Union twelve N.Z. Referees’ Association handbooks for the use of local referees. On Mr Penlington’s motion it was decided to request the Thames Valley Referees’ Asociation to forward to local associations all amendments and notes on rulings as soon as available from the N.Z. Association. It was resolved that local referees should periodically prepare papers or lectures for. the association. REPRESENTATIVE FOOTBALL DATE OF KING COUNTRY MATCH.— The date fixed by the King Country Rugby Union to play the Thames Valley Rugby Union at Paeroa is Saturday, August 13. FIXTURES FOR TO-MORROW. SELECTION GF TEAMS. A match has been arranged between the East seniors and Turua, and will take place on the No. 1 ground at 3 p.m. The following players have been chosen to take part in their respective club teams in the Paeroa Rugby Union’s competitions to-morrow :— East Seniors.—A. Catlin, E. Moore, N. Latimer. Players are requested to be at the dressing shed at 2.30 o’clock. West Seniors—Smardon, Wells, Swann, Verran, Dean, Coldicutt, Masters, Poland, McKee, Edwards, Fisher, Carrick, Dawson, Mills, Greenhalgh. Emergencies: Shaw and Mayo.
