MOTORING FATALITY.
CAR GOES OVER BANK.
DRIVER DIES FROM INJURIES.
WA.RKWORTH, Tuesday.
A motor accident resulting in the death of the driver occurred yesterday afternoon, between Kaeo and Whangaroa. A five-seater car, driven by Mr Julian Shepherd, of Whangaroa, and containing two passengers, was turning a bend in the road when it encountered a lorry driven by Mr Scott, of Kaeo. The car was about to pass the lorry when it ran off the road and' fell down a 14ft bank, turning over and landing on its wheels.
Mr Shepherd, who suffered severe head and body injuries, did not recover consciousness, and died after admission to the Whangaroa Hospital.
Mr William Moselem, of Whangaroa, sustained head injuries, but soon recovered consciousness, and is now in bed at his home.
The third occupant of the car, a lady doctor, was not seriously injured, although she received a severe shock.
