The Hauraki Plains County Council has followed the lead of the Turua Town Board and decided to have handrails erected to mark the bridge at the corner of the Turua-Orongo road and the Orongo-Kopuarahi road.
The danger to horses of the slippers’ state of bitumen-bound Toads, particularly in cold weather, was mentioned at yesterday’s meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council by Cr. H. H. Hicks, and on his motion the engineer was instructed to consider sanding the roads at intervals during the winter.
