HOSPITAL REPORTS.

THE THAMES INSTITUTIONS. PROGRESS DURING APRIL. The following reports were submitted at Monday’s meeting of the Thames Hospital Board and approved :— MATRON’S REPORT. The matron (Miss K. M. Ansenne) reporte.d on various staff and domestic matters. A donation of £2 was I*Cceived from Miss and Mr J. Twohill towards. Easter gifts for patients. There, had been four births at the maternity annexe during the month. Four patients had been admitted, and two women and two babies were ie•maining at date. Mr C. W. Kennedy, a member of the hospital committee, said that he had nothing to add to the- report, except that he thought the linoleum, as previously referred to, should be renewed. Mr Walton said that lie thought better facilities should be provided for the washing of dishes. The chairman (Mr W. E. Hale) said that the matter was still alive, and he hoped to have, estimates, and a report ready in time for the next meeting. ENGINEER’S REPORT. The engineer (Mr A- M. Somerville) reported that steam for radiators had been in full use in the operating theatre, and maternity annexe during the whole month. In several places corroded water pipes had been replaced. The coal tally for the month was 30 tons 19cwt. DISTRICT HOMES. The superintendent, District Homes Tararu, reported that there were 15 male and 2 female inmates at the institution, one of whom was in a very low condition. NURSE TO NATIVES. The district nurse to natives (Miss J. M. Jarrett) reported having attends 1 and advised 4.0 cases, during the month. Lectures were given on the value of fresh air, cleanliness, typhoid and water, and typhoid inoculations. Ten pahs had been visited. PATETONGA NURSE. The Patetonga district nurse (Mrs L. McNamara) reported that she had attended ten patients during the month, and fees received amounted to £4 5s 6d.
