PRESENTATION.
miss J. McCaskill A pleasing little ceremony took place in the teachers’ room at the Paeroa District High School on Wednesday afternoon, when the staff assembled to take formal farewell of one of their members, Miss J. McCaskill, who has resigned her position owing to her approaching marriage to Mr J. E. Bigelow, M.A., Blenheim, who was formerly a teacher at the local school. On behalf of the staff Mr G. H. Taylor (headmaster) asked Miss McCaskill to accept a handsome- brass vase and a Doulton cup and saucer, as a slight token of the esteem in which she was held. Mr Taylor referred eulogisti-cally to the long term of years that Miss McCaskill had give.n to her profession, and particularly to the good work that she had accomplished at Paeroa. He- voiced the general regret of those present that Miss McCaskill was, leaving their midst, and concluded by wishing her -every happiness, good health, and prosperity during her married life.
