PAEROA POST OFFICE.

CONTINUOUS TELEPHONE SERVICE

OFFICE TO BE OPEN IN EVENING*.

Advice has been received by the local postmaster (Mr W. E. Ward) that following on the representations made- by the'Paeroa Chamber of Commerce, supported by the people, the department has given its approval for the institution of a continuous telephone- exchange service for Paeroa.

The request that the post office should be opened to the public each evening between 7 and 8 o’clock, Sundays excepted, has- also been granted. The new arrangements will be brought into operation in the near future —as soon as the necessary staff arrangements can be made.
