PAEROA RUGBY UNION.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The weekly meeting of the Paeroa Rugby Union Committee was held at Mr W. Bain’s rooms on Monday night, the chairman (Mr C. T. Mettain) presiding over the following: Messrs JPinder H. M. Shand, C. H. Potter, W. Morrison, and the. secretary (Mr RHodson). GROUND RENTAL. The Paeroa Domain Board wrote advising that the rental of two playing areas for the season would be £l2 10s, plus, £4 for the ladies’ hockey field. If aTiy increase on the admission fee of Is was made, the board was entitled to recover ten per cent, of the increase. JUNIOR COMPETITION. It was resolved to- accept the Karangahake club in the junior competition, and also that provided King. Mead, and Grant play for Karangahakc they be granted clearances from tlie East club. REGISTRATIONS. The Paeroa District High School third-grade club forwarded the names of 20 players for registration'. The East chib forwarded the names of two senior and three additional players’ names for registration. The. Suburbs club forwarded tire names of 19 senior and 19 junior players for registration. The West club also applied for registration of H. Coldicutt (seniors) and A. E. Overall (juniors).—Approved Tthe regrading of J. Smith, of the Suburbs club, from senior to junior was granted. SERVICES OF BAND. On the motion of Mr Pinder it was decided to record appreciation of tlie musical programme submitted by the Paeroa Boy.Scouts’ Band on Saturday last. GROUND IMPROVEMENTS. Mr Potter spoke with reference to seating accommodation, a Press table., and tlie padding of goalposts. The various matters were referred to the chairman, secretary, and Messrs Pinder and Arnold, junr. with power to act. LINE UMPIRES. Tlie difficulty of securing the services of line umpires was mentioned by the secretary. It was considered that the teams should find a line umpire each. COMMITTEE REPRESENTATION. Mr Morrison pointed out that as tlie Netherton club was putting in a junior team only he would have to forfeit his seat on the committee. Tire chairman said it was to be regretted that such a position had arisen. He (hoped that the boundary question when settled would assist the Netherton club to put out a senior team.

The chairman moved a vote of thanks and appreciation to Mr Morrison for tire services rendered during the years lie had been a member of the union.

Mr Potter seconded, and the motion was carried with acclamation. Mr Morrison thanked the members for their remarks, and said that he would continue to do .what lie could to further the interests of football generally.
