“LEST WE FORGET.”

IN MEMORY OF THE ANZACS.

AVREATHS AT THE HIGH SCHOOL.

A feature in the commemoration of Anzac Day this year was the large number of beautiful wreaths and floral tributes which were placed at the foot of the school Roll of Honour at Paeroa. The headmaster of the local district high school (Mr G. H. Taylor) and his staff have always made a point of telling their pupils about the glorious part played by the New Zealanders in the. historical landing at Gallipoli and instructing them as to the fitting observance of Anzac Day. This year the value of the teaching was manifested in the silent tokens of remembrance in the shape of floral tributes brought along by tlie children.

The following is a list of the names of those who placed wreaths at the. school on Monday last :—
