PAEROA DEFEATS TE AROHA.

RAIN MARS CONCLUSION.

An enjoyable intei'-club match was played on the local green on Saturday afternoon last, when the Paeroa club defeated Te Aroiha by seven points. Unfortunately rain fe.ll when the game had advanced as far as the 17th head, and the remainder of the heads had to be shortened as a consequence.

Prior to commencing the match the president (Mr P. Williams) extended a. hearty welcome to the visitors and hoped they would spend a happy afternoon.

Six rinks assembled, and the details of the. scores are as follows, Paeroa players being mentioned first in each instance :—

At the conclusion of play the Te Aroha club’s acting president (Mr Bliss) returned thanks for the hearty welcome and cordial hospitality extended to the visitors. In congratulating the Paeroa. team on its victory he expressed the opinion that had the. rain not prevented the playing of the full number of heads Te Aroha would have won. He then called for three cheers for the home club, followed by the the singing of “For They are Jolly Good Fellows.”
