Election Notices. TO THE ELECTORS. This is to let you know that I am again offering myself as a candidate for the office of a councillor for a further term. I thank you for the support you accorded me at the last election, and feel that my record of service justifies me in again seeking that support. I claim to have adhered to the promise I made prior to the .last election to pursue a progressive policy, while bearing in mind the necessity for keeping the rates within reasonable bounds. I renew that promise, and endorse the policy and programme recently advertised by His Worship the Mayor, being convinced that the prosperity of Paeroa is bound up, in the good civic government and the works which are indicated in his policy and programme. I have never been and will not be a blinjl follower, but when the best interests of the town are at stake I hold that whole-hearted co-operation is imperative. Having large business interests involved in the town and surrounding district 1 am vitally interested in the advancement of Paeroa. Yours faithfully, HOWARD J. HARE. MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS. Ladies and Gentlemen — In response to the requests of a number of the citizens of Paeroa I have again decided to offer myself as a candidate at the coming elections. In soliciting your support 1 wish to inform you that it will be my intention to support generally the progressive policy as outlined by the Mayor, consistent always with reserving the right to introduce anything that may be helpful to such policy or in keeping the burden on the ratepayers as light as possible. In reference to the report which is being circulated that I refused to agree to a sportsmanlike toss of the coin to decide whether Mr Turner or I should retire and so avoid the expense of an election, I wish to state that this was suggested to me by Mr Flatt. I certainly resented a suggestion from another candidate that the sporting chance in an election should be eliminated and his return assured by Mr Turner or myself retiring. On election "day all candidates arc on an equal footing, and when in the. field I am a sure starter. However, as a sport I am quite willing to agree to toss a coin with Mr Flatt now, if he will agree to the loser retiring. Yours faithfully, R. B. DUNLOP. PAEROA BOROUGH COUNCIL. Ladies and Gentlemen — I wish to announce that at the request of many Ratepayers and Burgesses I again offer my services by seeking re-election as a candidate at the forthcoming Borough Elections. In soliciting your support for my candidature, I will undertake to exercise with exactness and impartiality all matters pertaining to the betterment of Paeroa in the public interest, and will fearlessly carry out my duties for the general good of the Borough, as has hitherto been my ambitious desire. If returned I propose to assist His Worship the Mayor to carry out the programme of work and also entirely endorse his published policy. Yours faithfully, JOSEPH PINDER.

TO THE ELECTORS. I beg to announce that I am again a Candidate for the office of Borough Councillor* at the forthcoming Election. If elected, I shall use my best endeavours to further the advancement of this Borough as a whole, bearing in mind the need at this juncture for economy, and the burden which we as ratepayers have to shoulder. Subject always to my own opinion on any matter, it is also my intention to assist, in a spirit of co-operation, the furthering of the progressive policy as outlined by His Worship the Mayor. I trust, therefore, that I may receive your support. . Yours faithfully, ERIC A. PORRITT. Tenders. OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL. TENDERS FOR CONTRACT No. 588.
