PAEROA TENNIS CLUB.

OFFICIAL CLOSING. PLAY LAST SATURDAY. The courts of the local tennis chib presented an animated scene on Saturday last, the occasion being the official closing of the courts for this season. To mark the event a singles tournament was contested by players and visitors attending, and, in keeping with the season just concluded, it was a highly successful function. Full advantage was taken by the players of the fine weather experienced. Some sterling contests were witnessed, and it was not until play had finally to be concluded because of approaching darkness that the result was known. The winner of the ladies’ singles was Miss Iris Taylor, and of the men’s singles L. C. Masters.
