Matters generally in Paeroa during Easter were very quiet, and there were no untoward incidents. A large number of people took advantage of the holidays to visit Auckland, and the Thames and Waihi beaches. The Hauraki Plains county engineer reported to the council at the last meeting that Hie whole of the metalling of the Nethe.rton 1925 loan work was completed, and another day or two’s rolling was required on the Stop-bank road to complete the work. The bitumen work on Hauraki road between McMillan’s and Troughton’s was ’nearing completion. On the Wbarepoa road a bottom course of metal ihad been laid over 20 chains, and would he blinded with red metal. The metalling contract on the Kai-here-Torehiipe road had been completed.
