Four interments took place at the I’ukerimu Cemetery, Paeroa, during March, the fe.es being £6. “The defaced and unusable coins placed in the collection plates of the churches to-day are many,” said the Rev. Crawshaw at u Salvation Army harvest thanksgiving service in Palmerston North. An Auckland minister, who had been at a parish few 25 years, collected a large bag of such pieces of silver and had them made into a cross, which was placed on the Communion table. This was later stolen, but the conscience of the. thief was uneasy, as the cross was returned as mysteriously as it was taken, ami now it stands as a remiiiilci' to those who put useless coins in the collection plate.
