GOOD STAND BY VISITORS
The match between tne above teams was commenced on Saturday last, Paeroa winning the toss and sending the visitors in to bat. Both Jones, and Humphreys played great stone-walling games, taking 80 1 minutes to reach 50. The first wicket fell at 74, Farrow diving full length at a fast ball tram Humphreys and making a fine catch. Flower, with his next ball took Aitken’s middle stump. The stone-wall-ing of the visitors had the local skipper changing 'his bowlers frequently. Shand took a great c,ne.-handed catch from McPherson, and Taylor caught Jones out low on the ground. Trenberth made things merry for a little while, for after having missed twice he knocked both Flower and Shand for sixes. The visitors were finally dismissed fcr the fine total of 189, The bowling and fielding of the local men were very good, while the batting of the visitors was a treat te. watch, Jones being the best Oif a good team. Mori'insville batted all the afternoon .
