PAEROA STOCK SALE.
GOOD YARDING .OF CATTLE.
RULING, PRICES MAINTAINED.
' The secund sale to be conducted by the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency at the Paeroa yards was held yesterday. There was a full yarding of cattle and several pe»s o'f sheep and pigs. The attendance of both vendors and buyers was good, and although the prices obtained for stock were not so high as at the first sale, they were considered satisfactory, and in keeping with the general tendency of easing o'f prices for cattle. The yarding comprised stock from all parts Cif the district, and, generally, the sale was considered to be quite satisfactory and showed that the holding of regular stock .sales at Paeroa were warranted.
The 'following is a brief summary of the prices ruling yesterday : — Best dairy cows and heifers £8 to £lO 10s, ethers £6 to £7 15s, inferior sorts £4 10s to £5 10s ; fat cows and hei'fers £5 to £5 10s ; good meaty cows £4 to. £4 10s, others £3 to £3 15s, inferior sorts £2 10s to £2 15s ; rough cows 30s fa 40s ; dairy heifers, in calf, £3 10s to £4, others £2 10s to £3 ss. There was a good yarding of steers, but there was little or no demand for them. A line of good 2-year-old old steers was passed in at £3 13s 6d. The entry of sheep was very satisfactory, and all those yarded changed hands. Fat ewes brought from Ils to 13s 9d: good shorn store lambs 10s 9d to 13s 6d.
There were several pens of pigs, but there was no demand.
