THE PLUNKET SOCIETY.

IMPORTANT MEETING.

WIDENING NURSE’S SCOPE.

An important meeting will be held in the Kerepeehi Hal] next Friday afternoon, when representatives of all the branches ef the Plunket Society on the Hauraki Plains will meet t;he executive of the Thames Society to discuss the matter of procuring a motor-car for -the use o'f the Plunket nurse. At present much of the nurse’s time is wasted in waiting for ami t,ravelling in motor buses, whereas if she had a ear she could give very much better service and could visit those babies which it was not advisable to bring long distances to the Plunket rooms. Some of the branches would be relieved of much of. their heavy obligation 'for ’travelling expenses ! f tlie nurse had a car, and ot.her branches which now have the benefit of free transportation would lose this advantage, but it is thought that the greater service would be ample compensation. The possession cf a car would also enable the nurse t,o visit Waitakaruru, where a branch would have been formed before now had it been possible to arrange for the attendance of the nurse.
