PLAINS COUNTY ROADS.
MAINTENANCE PROGRAMME.
WORK FOR THE SEASON.
The foltowing partial programme of maintenance works for the roads; < f the Hauraki Plains County, as recommended by the county engineer, Mr F. Basham, and adopted by the Works Committee, was submitted to the full council on Thursday last and adopted: Kopuarahi Riding: Resurfacing Piako River Landing to Hale’s, three miles, 3in course. Riding’s share, approximately £660. Horahia Riding : Kerepeehi-Kopua-rahi Road, one mile main highways, 2% miles by riding atone. Main highways 3in course, other l%in course. Cost to riding approximately £lOOO. Kerepeehi Riding: Kerepeehi-Ko-puarahi Road, 1% miles main hignways ; township wharf to corner of Kerepeehi-Kopuarahi Road, one mile, c-st. to riding approximtaely £630. Portion of main road from Netherton boundary, cost approximately £125.
Netherton Riding : From hall site to the Kerepeehi riding boundary, main highways. Cost to riding £175. Waitakaruru Riding: Canal to stream, half-mile full course. Cost to riding £l2O. Stream to Haley’s, Hz miles shell. Cost to riding £lOO.
Pipiroa Riding: Pipiroa-Waitaka-ruru Road.. Main highways, 2% miles. Cost to riding £6OO. Hopai East, 1% miles. Cost to riding £250.
Ngatea Riding: Rawerawe Road, cost to riding £3OO.
As the council last year was penalised through undertaking the maintenance of its highways early in the season and later on tihe basis o'f contribution by the Highways Board was, increased, the council’s representative on the District Council was instructed to endeavour to ensure that this would not again occur.
