KEREPEEHI SPORTS.
EASTER MONDAY EVENT. ASSOCIATION REFORMED. The Kerepeehi sports will be held on Easter Monday this year., as in the past. This decision was reached at an enthusiastic public meeting (held on Monday evening, Mr J. M. Thompson presiding over an attendance '■■f thirty. It was decided that the Sports Assoelation which was merged into the Hauraki Plains A. and P. Association, be reformed, and the following officers were appointed: Patron, Mr A. M. Samuel, M.P.; president, Mr J. M. Thompson ; vice-presidents, Messrs A. Fisher, A. Tunis, W. Herkt, F. Rogers, J. Murdock, C. O’Loughlin, C. Scott, R. Connor, J. H. Nicholson, Kneebone, G. Courtney, E. Mulgrew, J. Hamill. J. M. Devereaux, E. Hunter, AV. Thompson, R. Shilton, G. Crock-fold, L Harefield, E. Taylor. F. Chick, J. Barton, E. Barribal, C. Pemce, J. Middleton,’f. Kidd, G. Mclntosh, H. Innis, 11. K. Petersen, W. Chick, G. Hopping, J. Blythe P. Fisher, W- Kidd, S. Garlett, D. Blythe, E. A- Mahoney, E. L. AValton, J. Woods, C. Foster, B. Frecklington, E. J. Wili ams, S. A vice-president’s donation of (half-a-guinea will admit the donor, his wife and family to the sports. Membership fees were fixed at ss. Discussing the programme of events Mr Herkt advocated less horse events, so as to make room for athletic, bicycle, or mcitor’ car events. Mr A. Fisher advocated wood chopping, and promised a donation of £lO towards the prize money, and also to assist in procuring the blocks.. The offer was gratefully accepted,and Messrs. Fisher Bros, Harefield, and Pearce were appointed to manage the event. A maiden chop and an underhand chop were also decided upon. Mr W. Chick offered to donate £2 2s for an “old buffers’ ” chop, and Mr A. Fisher offered another £2 2s for a second prize. For a ladies’ chop Mr W. Barton promised a donation Of £2 2s, and Mr A. Fisher offered a similar amount 'for further prizes. The donations were gratefully accepted, and suitable votes of thanks were accorded the donors. The details of the programme were left, to the committee.
