Good progress is being made witti the preparation for the electric power line erection along the Kaihere road. A big gang of men is employed, and most of the poles are now ready for erection. It is a well-known fact that the bee sting is a very serious matter to some individuals. A Hawera resident, when cycling to his work the other moinin, was stung in the ear by a bee he unfortunately collided with. He was not far from his home, to which he returned immediately and' had the sting removed. By this time he was so faint that he could not stand and had to go to bed, where he remained three days, and lost four day’s work as a result of the accidental encounter A remarkable early effect of the sting stinging was that the patient s face e,n the opposite side swelled to a great size, while the other side re mained normal.
