formation of district. MATTER UNDER WAY. / The matter of ’forming a drainage dist/ict under the provisions of the Lands Drainage Act to take over from the Lands Drainage Department the administration cf certain lands between Ngatea, Pipiroa, and Waitakaruru is progressing steadily but slowly. Full details of the Lands Department’s offer to do certain works in the proposed district, which has now been definitely defined, have been received in writing from the chief drainage engineer, and the committee of settlers which is handling the matter has decided to circulate the necessary petition praying for the constitution of t.he district as jjuiekly as possible. The committee comprises Messrs T. McClean, A. H. McClean, C. Parfitt, A. Cleaver, and J. Motion.
