CANVAS CUT FROM FRAME.

LONDON, February 25.

A reward of £looo' lias been offered for the recovery of a painting by the famous artist, George Romney.

. The picture was cut from its frame while onits way to Christie’s, the well-known auctioneers.

The owner says the painting is the portrait of a woman and is worth £19,000.

The packet was intact when it reached Christie’s, but when it, was opened only the ragged edges of the canvas were 'found in the frame.
