Sixty-five years of age, broken in health, reared 15 children, three of whom were killed in the Great War, and now in the winter of his life reduced to penury, were some of the facts relating to a bankrupt who was before his creditors at Nelson. The farmer —for such he was —had been caught by 'the slump, and, despite hard work, was unable to keep ahead of things. Creditors were very sympathetic, testified to bankrupt’s industry and recommended him for his immediate discharge.
