An instance of amazing ingenuity on the par.t of people seeking assistance from churches was given in the Christchurch Children’s Court, when three small children were christened in one church, but within a week the mother had had them 'christened by two other denominations, thus bringing the. penury of the 'family under the notice of three churches.
