In reply to a request from the N.Z. Farmers’ Union Executive that the royalty of Is per snowi, on wild pigs be reinstated, a letter from the Com-; missioner df State Forests read to. the meeting o'f the executive in Wellington last week stated .that the royalty had been paid for three years and aboil* 47,000 snouts had been paid for, but the pigs were apparently as bad as ever, and the bonus had been dropped. The Director-General of Agriculture was trying poisonis, and hoped to find one. which would be an effective means of getting rid of this most troublesome pest.
