POWER BOARD FINANCES
STATEMENT FOB NINE MONTHS. LARGE INCREASE IN BUSINESS. The following statement of income and expenditure covering the nine months from April 1 to December 31, 1926, was presented by the manager (Mr R. Sprague) at the last meeting of the Thames Valley Electic Power Board (figures for the corresponding period in 1925 being given in parenthesis: :—
Income. —Flat rate : lighting,, heating, and power £39,750' Is 7d (£31,607 17s) ; water-heaters, £2321 14s 3d (£1172) ; ovens, £1415 10s 5d (£451) ; town : meters, _£15,776 14s. 3d (£13,109) ; street lighting, £772 Is Id £737) ; towns, maximum demand, £2717 Ils (£2681) ; factories and industrial, £5134 4s 7d (£4018) ; trading and sundries, £5755 16s 8d (£5000). Total, £73,643 13s 10d.
Expenditure.—Power purchases, £22,999 8s 6d (£17,893 Is lOd) ; interest and sinking fund, £31,968 (£27,&87) ; administration and maintenance, £14,422 3s 8d (£9578 6s 7d) ; discounts, £4165 6s lOd ; balance, £BB 14s lOd. Total, £73,643 13s lOd.
