ANNIVERSARY DAY FIXTURES. PAIRS COMPETITION. To-morrow (Anniversary Day) the Paeroa Bowling Club will hold a progressive pairs competition, commencing at 8.30 a.m. Members desiring to take part in this -competition are requested- to notify the or enter their names at the pavilion as early as possible in order that there will be no dejay in arranging the draw and the. sections. NIGHT PLAY COMPETITION. Feeling the loss of the. night play buttons after having retained them tar so long, the defeated champions, Lowry, Pe,rst>n, J. Morland, and T. Hale (skip), challenged the present holders, McCullay, Forrest, Hamilton, and W.’Purdie (skip), on Wednesday night. The match, which was keenly contested, and which evoked a good deal <>f interest, was won comfortably by Purdie’s team, the scores being 28 points to 12. BRENAN SHIELD FINAL. The final game between the winners of the A section (W. H. Taylor’s team) and the winners df the B section (F. Marsh’s team) in th® Brenan Memorial Shield competition will probably be played early next week. LAST NIGHT’S MATCH. The Scotsmen were doomed not to bold the buttons for long. Last night the team played a rink comprising Lowry, L. Gibb, G. H. Taylor, and T. L. Williams (skip), and were defeated by 4 1 points. After a keen struggle for supremacy Williams’ team won by 24 points to 20.
